Today’s ‘Treatment to Try’ uses a key ingredient I’ve been hearing all sorts of good stuff about since the start of my hair journey. This ingredient can probably be found in one of your cupboards at home, and is a staple in the kitchen. This ingredient does a lot for your health including: curing hiccups, soothing a sore throat, aiding heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, and can even help you lose weight.
Have you guess it yet? Probably not, so I’ll just tell you – it’s apple cider vinegar. Yes this marvellous vinegar not only tastes amazing but can really help look after your body. And did you know? It also does wonders for your hair.
Apple cider vinegar (or ACV as it’s sometimes known) is a natural cleanser so I’m guessing that if like me and you’re not a big shampoo fan, then you could probably use this in lieu of shampoo and still have a clean scalp as it helps remove build-up without getting rid of our natural hair oils. ACV helps to balance our hair and scalp pH which is important if you want to grow healthy long hair.
Other great ACV benefits? It helps your hair absorb more nutrients and good stuff from your other hair products by retaining moisture; it reduces frizzy hair; helps detangle hair; and add shines. If you ask me, there’s not a lot ACV doesn’t do.
