Here are the everyday makeup and beauty essentials you can find in my bag when I go to work. Admittedly, these products tend to change depending on the makeup look I’m going for. But for the most part, you’ll never find me leaving the house for work without mascara, blush, foundation, hand cream and a lip product.
Nivea Soft Cream
My ride or die, I never leave home without this beautifully creamy Nivea moisturiser. This is the only hand cream I’ve used that genuinely moisturises and hydrates my hands – especially after washing them. This cream keeps my hands feeling super soft and nourished throughout the day.
Fresh Rose Instant Hydration Mist
If you find that your face gets dry throughout the day or you want to give your makeup a second life, then this facial mist is it. I love using it at several points during my morning skincare and makeup routine because not only is it very hydrating, but it feels amazing on my skin. I love the light rose scent and how easily it can transform a dull and dry makeup look into a fresh and glowy masterpiece.
NARS Afterglow Lip Balm
I used to be afraid of wearing red, but thanks to products like this NARS lip balm, I’ve fallen head over heels for the colourful hue. Because this is a balm, it glides on beautifully and keeps your lips feeling great. I love how pigmented the shade is and how easy it is to customise it to your preference. On days when I’m feeling more daring, I’ll apply more, but on days when I only want a little bit of colour, I’ll apply less.
Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush
Hands down my favourite blushes of the moment, when I say I’m obsessed with the Westman Atelier blushes, I mean it. I recently spoke about my love for these blushes and the love is still going strong because I wear at least one of these every day. My favourite combination at the moment is Poppet and Dou Dou – together they give you that perfect bright pinky finish without looking too much – and they are so beautifully complimentary on dark tones.
Too Faced Born This Way Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer
I’m kind of new to concealer (I think I’ve only tried about four in my short 31 years hehe), but this Too Faced one has easily risen to my top picks. The coverage on this concealer is actually insane, so much so that there are times when I don’t even bother with foundation because this concealer makes me look so flawless. Speaking of foundation, I love how well this Too Faced concealer wears underneath and on top of my foundation, and how natural it always looks. It’s quite creamy and non-drying which is a must.
Elf Wow Brow
This £6 brow gel is everything my brows could have ever wanted. Not only is this stupidly simple to apply (perfect for my beginner-friendly girlies *ahem* me), but it also looks oh so natural. And if like me, you find that black makeup products sometimes show up ashy or green on your skin, you’ll be over the moon with the shade Deep Brown. Don’t be fooled by the name because even though it’s technically brown, it actually shows up pretty dark on the skin to the point where you’d be forgiven for thinking it was black. Honestly, when I tell you this was life-changing for me, I’m not exaggerating.
Westman Atelier Vital Skin Foundation Stick
I haven’t worn this foundation stick in a hot minute, but after watching an old TikTok of me applying it, I haven’t put it down. If there’s one thing Westman Atelier does well, it’s super natural-looking makeup that’s your skin but 100 times better. And this foundation stick is no exception. It’s thick, it’s creamy, it’s easy to apply and blend, but most importantly it looks like my skin when I’m wearing it. However, as much as I adore this foundation (it’s in my top two), I’d be remiss if I didn’t say that depending on the condition of my dry/dehydrated/combination skin, sometimes the finish and feel can be sliiiiightly different at times.
Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Push Up Lashes Mascara
Despite a short period of time last year when I started using another mascara, I’ve been very consistent with this Charlotte Tilbury mascara. I love how thick this makes my lashes look and how you can kind of customise it depending on the type of lash you want to achieve. The wand makes it easy to reach even the shortest of lashes and unlike some mascaras, it doesn’t start flaking halfway through the day. In fact, this mascara doesn’t budge one bit and stays in place for the whole day. But as much as I love wearing this mascara by itself…
Hourglass Caution Extreme Lashes Mascara
…why wear one mascara when you can wear two, huh? Similar to the Charlotte Tilbury mascara, this one by Hourglass works well by itself and you don’t need to pair it with anything. However, if you’re in the mood for a bit of drama and really want to have a WOW lash, putting this on top of your mascara is the best way to go. I personally love a thick, clumpy lash so this combo works fine for me. Another reason why I love this combination is, because I’ve found that this Hourglass mascara is quite tricky to take off, I haven’t been reaching for it as much as I would like. But when I pair it with the Charlotte Tilbury mascara, it comes off like a total dream which I love.
