From skincare products I vowed to never buy again, to an unlikely favourite, in today’s post I’m sharing the top three skincare products I’m loving at the moment. I recently shared an extended 6-product list on my YouTube channel, so make sure you check that out if you’re curious about the other three products that I have recently stolen my heart.
U Beauty Resurfacing Compound
The first time I tried the U Beauty Resurfacing Compound, I wasn’t all that impressed. I’m pretty sure I publically said I wouldn’t buy it again… famous last words hahahaha. However, when I saw that U Beauty had 20% off a couple of months ago, I decided to give this serum hybrid another shot, and boy oh boy am I glad that I did. Promising to replace something like six skincare products, the Resurfacing Compound is a kind of miracle-do-anything product that’s great for anti-ageing, smoothing fine lines, evening and brightening skin tone, tightening the appearance of skin and so much more. After using the U Beauty Resurfacing Compound, I noticed how much smoother my face felt and how much more even and bright it looked.
The only thing that kind of holds this power product back is the price tag. Though somewhat “affordable” at £85 for 15ml, this goes all the way up to £215 for a 50ml bottle. I missed my chance to rebuy this back in august when they had another 20% off offer, so I’ll be patiently waiting for their next discount.
Caudalie Vinosun Ocean Protect SPF50
When I tried Caudalie for the first time last year, to say I was royally disappointed would have been an understatement. Despite trying four completely different products, nothing had clicked, and (even though I don’t like to use the word) I’d hated everything. So when I came across the Caudalie Vinosun Ocean Protect SPF50 whilst looking for more sunscreen, I hadn’t expected much from it. But much to my surprise, this sunscreen completely blew me away. Everything from the consistency to the application and even the finish was absolutely sublime. Make sure you also check out my dedicated YouTube video, where I go into more detail about this sunscreen and demo it.
There really isn’t anything to hate about this sunscreen. It’s a mighty, hardworking sunscreen that’s worthy of all the love it gets from me. I’ll definitely be rebuying this because it’s such a great product to have.
Y Wait Rose Toner
When it comes to some products, I will not deviate from using them unless I must and have no choice. Toner is one of those products. For the last few years, I’ve exclusively used (and documented) the Fresh Rose Floral Toner, so when (randomly and for no reason) Fresh discontinued my absolute holy grail, I was forced to find an alternative, and that is where the Y Wait Rose Toner comes in. I bought this back in March 2022 but didn’t start using it until the summer when I had no other options. And what was the result? A new love affair of the heart. This toner is refreshing, crisp, hydrating and delicate. Its ever-so-gentle scent really gives your spirits and mornings a lift, making you look forward to applying it every day.
The thing that makes this toner even more special for me is that it’s from a female Black-owned business based here in London. Y Wait as a brand is one that I’m slowly getting familiar with and one that I can’t wait to try more of their products. So watch this space.
