Last week I came across an interesting article on Byrdie, listing how to get yourself amazing skin without breaking the bank or trying too hard – two things we definitely advocate here on the blog. Needless to say, some of these tricks were fascinating and extremely surprising, so I thought I’d share three of the best (read: easiest and cheapest) ways to improve your skin.
HANG YOUR HEARD UPSIDE DOWN FOR THREE MINUTES A DAY
This one was by far the strangest yet most fascinating of every item shown on the list. But apparently, it’s not as crazy as it sounds. Hanging your head upside down actually IMPROVES circulation which means more nutrients and other good stuff can flow more easily around your body and to your face.
NEVER SKIP WASHING YOUR FACE IN THE MORNING
Now this is one that I live by. In the past I noticed that whenever I would skip washing my face in the morning, in a few days I would be breaking out like nobody’s business, as well as finding that my skin just felt yuck. Washing your face every day (especially first thing in the morning), helps rid your skin of any residual sweat from the night before, as well as prepping your face for a new day of makeup and product. Alongside always remembering to wash your face in the morning, I’d also say that remembering to ALWAYS remove your makeup before bed is also incredibly important to having great skin. Not removing makeup will lead to your pores getting clogged, which in turn leads to breakouts and all sorts of nasty facial problems.
MASSAGE YOUR FACE EVERY TIME YOU MOISTURISE
I actually read about this one a few years ago and have incorporated it into my routine ever since. Massaging your face while you moisturise helps promote blood flow in the face (similar to what happens when you hang your head upside down), which helps brings nutrients and a great glow to your face. Massaging your face is super simple (just use your fingers in small circular motions on your skin) and feels amazing! Just think of it as giving yourself a mini facial every time you moisturise.
Very interesting stuff indeed. For the full article, check out the link here.
