I love a bargain. So when it comes to buying essentials like moisturiser and eye cream, I like to know I’m getting the best deal possible. That’s why a few weeks ago when I popped into Superdrug to stock up on these Nivea essentials and saw the price, I said no, no, no. What had previously been £2.something and £7, respectively, was now £5.something and £12! When a look in Boots also turned out to be disappointing, I knew there was still one more place to try: Sainsbury’s.
In recent months, Sainsbury’s has really proved itself to be a great place to buy skincare products for a lot less. Sure their prices aren’t as low as some of the offers in Superdrug, but it’s a great place to look in when Superdrug doesn’t have any good offers on. I’ll never forget the £3.50 Nivea body lotion that Superdrug was trying to sell to me for over £5!
To my delight, Sainsbury’s had just what I was looking for, for less. Now, even though their prices were not as cheap as what I had originally paid (I got the moisturiser for £2.something and the eye cream for £9), it’s still better than the alternative. And before you say: ‘well that’s only a few pounds cheaper’; I’ll say that’s extra money I can put towards my splurge products from places like Fresh. After all, every little helps.
The moral of the story? Always remember to look to supermarkets for skincare – you never know what bargains could be waiting for you.
