Finally, the last sample from my January haul.
I’m not sure why it’s taken me this long to finally use this sample, but better late than never – and part of me feels that I subconsciously saved the best for last. This healing “oyl” from Taliah Waajid works as both a hair AND a body oil, and contains a combination of soybean oil, sunflower oil, almond oil, vitamin E, palm oil, olive oil, and just so happens to be paraben free! The oil can be applied in a variety of ways, but I decided to try it as a hot oil treatment – you guys know how much I love my hot oil treatments.
The first thing I noticed about this oil was the smell (and it was something I continued to notice throughout my hair treatment). The smell is sweet and warm, and reminds me of lazy summer days; and I’m sure that if this were a fragrance it’d be a popular scent.
The next thing I noticed was its orange colour, a colour I’m not used to seeing products in.
After heating up the oil in a small pan and transferring it into a glass for easier application, I then divided my hair and tried to evenly distribute the oil in my hair. To my surprise I managed to get my full head oiled with the small amount given in the sample (it measured out to about two tablespoons). I then covered my head with a plastic shower cap for an hour to prep my hair for washing.
Within a few minutes of having this oil on my head, I could feel my hair moisturising (does that make sense), and I could feel the lingering effects from my scalp massage with the oil.
Though I’ve just done a hair haul, this oil is one I’ll definitely look for when I next go hair product shopping. I loved the smell of this oil, the colour and how nice and relaxed it made my scalp feel. The only downside about the sample was that there wasn’t a lot in the sachet, but I guess there’s not a lot I could do about that.
Make sure you check back next week when I’ll be sharing my latest hair haul (and a whole new bunch of samples!)
