Summer beauty essentials L-R: Le Specs Star Glow sunglasses in Dark Tort, Bondi Sands SPF50+ body sunscreen, Augustinus Bader Face Mist, Nivea Soft Cream, ASOS hair scrunchie
When the mercury hits, these are the beauty and skincare products you need on your desk if you’re stuck in the office or on the go. Trust me when I say that when temperatures hit upwards of 28° this week, these were the things that kept me sane. So let’s look at all the summer beauty essentials I think you need to hand in to help you get through those hot days.
Le Specs Star Glow Sunglasses
First of all, a good pair of sunglasses is a must, and you can’t be wrong with anything from Le Specs. If you didn’t know, I’ve been a huge fan of Le Specs for many, many years, and usually opt for a cat-eye frame. However, last year I came across the square-framed Star Glow and fell in love. This chic pair of sunnies has an edgy-cool-girl vibe about them that instantly elevates your outfit and makes you feel badass.
Bondi Sands SPF50+ Body Sunscreen
Of course, you knew that sunscreen would be making an appearance. Reef-friendly and packed with vitamin e for 72-hour skin hydration, this body sunscreen offers broad-spectrum sun protection against UVA and UVB rays. For those days when you find yourself wearing a sleeveless top or you have your legs out (depending on your office), you’ll want to make sure you’re able to reapply your body sunscreen – especially if like me, you sit right by the window.
Augustinus Bader Face Mist
No desk is complete in the summer without a face mist of some sort, and this one from Augustinus Bader ticks every box. Cooling and refreshing on the skin, this beautiful mist adds a pep to your skin’s step as it rehydrates, nourishes and even helps to fight against oxidative stress, pollution and free radicals. Like most other mists, you can apply this at the start of your skincare routine and throughout the day. It works well on all skin types and lays magnificently over makeup. I’ve been using this non-stop all week and have even gotten a couple of my colleagues onto it.
Nivea Soft Cream
Just because you’ve got a sunscreen lotion, doesn’t mean you don’t also need an actual lotion-lotion. Now, truth be told, something like this Nivea cream should be on your desk year-round, but it’s even more important during the summer. Similar to the Bondi Sands sunscreen, if you have your legs, arms, or any body part out, it’s nice knowing you can always moisturise yourself on those rare times you find yourself looking a little ashy e.g. after washing your hands. The Nivea Soft Cream is such a gem because not only does it do a fantastic job of keeping your skin well taken care of, but it also leaves your skin feeling so soft and smooth.
ASOS hair scrunchie
And then finally a scrunchie. There’s nothing worse than feeling hot, sweaty and bothered, and having your hair sticking to your neck and body. A fun, bright and colourful scrunchie like this ASOS one will help keep your hair out of your face whilst keeping you cool.
What other summer beauty essentials would you add to your desk?
