When it comes to accessorising my natural hair, I love wearing ribbons and scarves to mix up my look. Lately though, I’ve added another hair accessory to that list: headbands. Now, I know that headbands aren’t exactly revolutionary, in fact just look at any six year old girl, but in recent months they’ve made one hell of a comeback. For me, I love them because they’re sturdier than ribbon or scarves, and don’t require repositioning or adjusting every few hours.
Last week I ordered a black velvet knot-style headband from ASOS, and I’ve been getting quite a few compliments on it. I love how effortless it makes every outfit look, and how easily it can be dressed up or down. I think it’s also a great way to style your hair when you’re in a rush – it’s so much chicer than a hat. I’ve pretty much been wearing mine every day.
ASOS and many other shops have a wide selection of styles, colours, textures and sizes to choose from, meaning there’s something for everyone. Plus what makes this hair accessory even better is that you can get them without breaking the bank. Case in point, mine was just £6.
