What is your biggest skin concern? Mine is definitely hyperpigmentation. So much so that every product I use (and every product that I even consider using) has the sole purpose of getting rid of the hideous dark spots that mark my face.
One ingredient that is world renowned for helping fade dark marks whilst also brighten skin is vitamin c (or L-ascorbic acid to be more precise). You may remember that late last year I dabbled in a bit of The Ordinary and tried out their Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%, but found my dark spots weren’t shifted as quickly (if at all) as I would’ve liked. I also found that after a few weeks my face started P E E L I N G, which scared me just about put me off and discouraged me from using acids.
That was until I stumbled across this product, the Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum, on Instagram when one of the skincare accounts that I follow posted about it with the following caption: “I’m seriously in love. I’ve been using this for a few weeks and my dark marks are going away and it makes my skin so soft. Get you some vitamin c serum”. The moment my eyes read “dark spots” and “going away” I was so sold. I immediately jumped on the internet and started researching this product to find out 1) where I could get it from 2) what other people were saying – p.s. people are saying GREAT things – and 3) how it worked.
This serum has four to 4.5 stars on reputable beauty sites from everyone including Amazon, Ulta, Sephora and Nordstrom so I’m inclined to believe that this is the real deal. Not only that, but the product description also makes it sound like a must-have. So, what actually makes this serum so good in the eyes of many? Vitamin C Serum is infused with vitamin c (duh) and helps retexturise skin, brighten uneven skin tone and reduce discolouration. Vitamin C Serum also works deeper thanks to hyaluronic acid and collagen which help keep the skin hydrated.
Even if I don’t end up buying this serum any time soon (I already have a loooong list of products I need to get starting with the Dr. Sebagh Deep Exfoliating Mask), I at least feel a bit motivated to give The Ordinary one last chance.
