I’ve always wanted to try Drunk Elephant and actually almost bought a set last Christmas. If you haven’t heard of Drunk Elephant, it’s a cult favourite skincare brand that burst on the scene back in 2012. While its fun and unique name caught the attention of skincare aficionados, its no-nonsense, results-driven approach to beauty and skincare garnered it a legion of loyal devotees. So much so that earlier this month it was announced that Japanese company, Shiseido Group, acquired the brand for a whopping $845 million.
I was then re-inspired listening to The Skinny Confidential Him & Her podcast a couple of weeks ago when Lauryn and Michael interviewed the founder, Tiffany Masterson. In the episode she talked about the “Suspicious Six” (essential oils, silicones, drying alcohols, fragrances/dyes, chemical sunscreens and SLS), going on a 30-day skincare diet and so much more. I honestly found the interview so insightful and informative; and even though I disagreed on a few points Masterson made, for the most part, I came away feeling very impressed and even more in love with the brand.
Naturally, I’m back to pining after the brand, and once again have my eyes on their The Littles set. Watch this space.
