Jamaican Mango & Lime Conditioning Shea Butter Shine.

I’ve said this a few times, but I don’t like using waxy textured products on my hair. They leave my hair feeling greasy, weighed down with build-up, and I hate how they leave behind a shiny residue that makes it look as though I’ve rolled around in a vat of petroleum. So when I first saw that this Jamaica Mango & Lime product was indeed a waxy textured product I wondered if I’d actually be able to use it, you know, given my prejudice and that. But as you can probably tell from this post, I did use it, and boy oh boy am I glad that I did.

First of all, because of the all the heat from the previous days, the product was more liquid than wax so it didn’t feel like other waxy products I was used to. Second of all, I noticed on the package the mention of the product providing brilliant shine without build-up. So with two alone, I was sold.

After cutting the first sachet open the first thing I noticed was the limey smell – utter divine – and how fruity it was. The next thing I noticed was the yellowy colour and how, most probably because of the heat, how well the product glided through my parted hair and how instantly soft it made my hair without feeling heavy.

One thing I didn’t notice until I had opened the second sachet was that the product is geared towards those with locks (something that I don’t obviously have), and though I doubt it’d have much effect on my hair, I thought it was still something worth mentioning. So will I buy it? Hmmm. In all honesty I’d rather just keep a batch (aka 1000 sample sachets) of these samples as I know that too much of a good thing is bad, and that eventually my prejudice would most likely flare up.
