Last week I showed you all the skincare and hair products I brought with me on my holiday, and this week I’m showing a closer look at my morning and night-time routine while I’m away. Most of the routines are similar to what I normally do in London, although some products have been swapped out. Watch my morning skincare routine in action below.
My morning routine always starts with a good cleanse to remove the grim and leftover product from the night before. I use the Fresh Soy Face Cleanser and massage it into my skin. It’s a very gentle cleanser and doesn’t irritate my skin at all which is great. However, one of the main things I don’t really like about the cleanser is how gentle it is. In fact, I usually only use this cleanser as a double-cleanser because while it may not be great for a thorough clean, it does a great job of removing any leftover cleansing oil. My skin needs something a little tougher to help combat the nasty bouts of spots I get. I haven’t been using my regular Clean & Clear Advantage Spot Control Daily Wash and my god does it show. I have been plagued with spots on my forehead and chin for the last week.
Next up in my routine is toner. On Friday I mentioned that I specifically bought a smaller bottle of the Fresh Floral Toner because I didn’t want to come without it. Like in London, I spritz this over my face and gently massage/tap it into my skin to soak up.
After toner, I apply the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Serum. For me, when travelling (and pretty much every day) hydration is key. My face gets really dry, but I love how great this serum has been for my skin. It’s so soothing, lightweight, gentle and most importantly hydrating – I honestly don’t know where I would be without it.
While I let the toner and serum soak into my face, I apply eye cream. For the first couple of days (okay, day and a half) I was using the Nivea Q10 Plus C Anti-Wrinkle + Energy Eye Cream, but after that finished I started trying the Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate eye cream I got as a sample a few months ago. I love that it’s creamy and thick and hydrates my under eyes. It also smells great which is a bonus. I dab a small bit under my eyes and on my lids.
Once the eyes are done it’s time for moisturiser. At home, I’ve been using the Nivea Q10 Plus C Anti-Wrinkle + Energy Day Cream SPF15, but I didn’t bring that with me. Instead, I’ve been using the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream which I am surprisingly loving. I say “surprisingly” because I didn’t think it was all that great when I first used it.
Last, but by no means least, I apply the most important step in my routine: sunscreen. I have been using the Nivea Sun UV Face Q10 Anti-Age & Anti-Pigments sunscreen for the last couple of weeks and oh my god I love it so much. Not only does it have SPF50, but it leaves ZERO white/purple/blue residue (making it user-friendly for dark-skinned girls), it’s super moisturising, lightweight and was only £6!
While some of this routine is slightly different to what it is like at home, for the most part, I still follow the same regimen. Does your morning skincare routine change while you’re away? Let me know in the comments. On Friday I’m sharing my evening routine, so make sure you check back to find out all the details.
