What I’m about to say may will trigger some serious eye rolling but hear me out. While I know I’m late to the game, serum is such a game changer. I touched upon it briefly in my previous post about Fresh’s Rose Deep Hydration Serum a few weeks back, but after using their Black Tea Age-Delay Firming Serum I’ve been fully converted.
I want to start by saying that despite the name of the product, I’m not trying to delay my age. I’m 25 but look about 15 and genuinely get ID’d ALL THE TIME – meaning I really have no need to delay ageing. But anyway, back on to the Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Firming Serum.
it seriously looks like water… |
The first thing I noticed about the serum was its super thin and watery consistency. And when I say watery, I mean WATER-Y! Having just used the Rose serum, I thought it would be kind of similar in consistency and wouldn’t be so damn runny. I couldn’t even lift my hand to take a picture because it was running all down my hand. That said, I think the runniness made it absorb into my skin a lot quicker and with little to no effort required from me.
Because this serum was so thin and watery, I can see how it could be layered with other thicker serums to maximise the benefits for the skin.
One weird thing I noticed after using this serum was that my face started feeling really dry underneath my moisturiser for a few days after use. Now, I don’t know if this is because I used it right after using my Nip + Fab glycolic pads, or if it’s because the temperatures have been dropping or if it’s because of the actual black tea ingredient, but I thought that was really weird. This then led me to believe (and has something to do with why I’m so late to the serum game) that the reason why my skin was so dry in the winter, was because I wasn’t using a serum. Anyway, I’m now convinced that serums are the way forward and I cannot wait to purchase my first one!
and one with the flash so you can see all that glorious serumy shine |
So, the age-old question: would I buy the full-size product? Well, as much as I really (REALLY) want to, I will stick to getting it as a sample. Why? Because I plan on buying the Rose Deep Hydration Serum and my bank account will only allow for one… for now.
