It’s been so long since I’ve written an Empties post, but today I’m back with a final review on the Superdrug We Heart Body Scrubs, Mint & Lime. I first bought this body scrub a couple of months ago when I was on the lookout for something to replace my The Body Shop Shea Exfoliating Sugar Scrub (FYI, I wasn’t a huge fan on this body scrub – especially considering the price). I came across this body scrub in Superdrug, and after deliberating between this one and a Dove scrub, I decided to get this one by Superdrug. Curious to know what I thought? Read on.
What I Loved
- Fine granules
- Unlike a previous body scrub that I was using, the granules in this product were a lot finer, making it easier to get a deeper clean
- Revealed super smooth skin
- Because the granules were so small and gave me a deep clean, I found that my skin was left feeling super smooth. This was especially noticeable after shaving my legs. I would recommend using this scrub before shaving for a smoother finish.
- The smell
- At first, I thought this body scrub smelt a little bit weird, but over time it kind of grew on me. It’s got a strange kind of fruity scent mixed with something green and leafy.
- It’s an ethical product
- Even though I’m not a vegan or vegetarian, I love that this body scrub is both vegan and vegetarian-friendly – which makes me wonder why animal byproduct needs to be in a body scrub in the first place – and that’s not tested on animals.
What I Didn’t Like
- Fine granules
- Hahahahaha, as much as I appreciated the fineness of the granules, at times it made it hard to properly rinse off. There were many times when I would be moisturising after finishing in the shower and still feel tiny balls on my shoulders.
Would I Buy Again?
In all honesty, I wouldn’t actively go out of my way to repurchase. As much as I liked using it, it didn’t really WOW me the way some products do. It fulfilled its purpose, which is good enough for me, so unless there are no other options the next time I’m shopping for a body scrub, I’m not likely to rebuy. That said, at the time when I did buy this scrub, Superdrug had an offer on it so I actually ended up buying two. So looks like I still have a couple more weeks of using this scrub before it’s time to find another one.
I’m still waiting for Superdrug to bring back their Cocoa Butter and Vanilla Body Scrub because that’s hands-down my all-time favourite body scrub *sigh*
