Before I first used the Fresh Rose Floral Toner as a sample last year, I was sure that toners and mists were a beauty-industry gimmick made to make people buy more products. However, after using a sample of the toner for a couple of weeks (and doing some research on the benefits of toners), I saw the error of my ways and immediately bought the bottle in its full size. Since then, I’ve been religiously using this twice a day, once in the morning and again at night, to help keep my skin hydrated and prepped for the rest of my skincare routine. Before I get started on what I liked about this toner, I think it’s important to remember why toners are an important part of a skincare routine.
Why Use Toner
Firstly, toners are important because they help remove any excess dirt, oil or makeup that might still be on your face after cleansing. By doing this, they also ensure other products absorb better into the skin, as there’s little to no dirt left to cut through. In the long run, this means that all those fancy ingredients can work more effectively on your face!
You should be applying toner after cleansing but before serum or other products.
What I Liked
- Ease of use
- Is there anything more efficient or easier to use than a spray bottle? I didn’t think so. Throughout the months of me using this toner, I loved that all I needed to do was spritz my face a couple of times before pressing/massaging it into my face.
- Nice smell
- Like the other products in the Fresh rose range, this toner smelt beautiful. It has a very light and minimal scent that you barely notice. This toner is also extremely cooling even without being kept in a fridge. This was especially useful during the TWO heatwaves we experienced in London.
- Lightweight
- As I use quite a few products on my face, I love that the toner is very lightweight – it’s basically gloried water but so much better – so I didn’t need to worry about my products pilling on my face.
- Matched perfectly with serum and other products
- I recently wrote a blog post about how I used this toner (along with a serum and face cream) to help combat my dry skin. While I found this toner matched perfectly with all of my other skincare products, it paired so nicely with the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Serum and the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream.
Will I Buy Again?
For sure! In fact, I shared a post two months ago where I shared a Fresh skincare haul and this toner was among the new bits I bought.
Have you used this toner? Do you use toner? I’d love to hear from you in the comments.
