A couple of weeks ago, I came across an article talking about six excellent rated night creams that dermatologists recommend. As I was reading through the list (half expecting to recognise at least one brand – I didn’t btw), I thought about my own current night cream, the Fresh Lotus Youth Preserve Dream Face Cream Super Lotus Night Recovery. I thought about how amazing my skin always felt, and how I loved it so much I had in fact gone on to rebuy it twice. Yep, you read that correctly… TWICE! It then dawned on me that I hadn’t shared an Empties review for my own night cream. So, without further here are two of the many wonderful things I love(d) about it.
The Texture
Probably one of the most fascinating things about this night cream is the texture. I can’t quite put my finger on it (despite being on my third pot), but I’d say it’s the perfect mix of thick and thin. Sure it depends on how much you apply, but I’ve found that even on nights when I’m being a little OTT, it doesn’t feel like my face is choking on the stuff. It really feels like my skin can breathe.
The Smell
The first thing I noticed about this night cream was the smell. It’s very lightly scented and smelt almost citrusy to me – think lemons and lime – without being too overpowering. What I found most interesting though, is that the smell doesn’t linger. So if you’re not a fan of fragranced products, you don’t have to worry about smelling like this all night long.
Anything Else?
At £45, this night cream is definitely expensive, especially compared to the Nivea Pure & Natural Regenerating Night Cream I was using right before I started using this one. That said, this cream lasts a long time, and feels so amazing on my skin, I think it’s worth it. Also, as I’ve only used it in the spring and summer time, I’d be interested to see how well it’d hold up in the winner months when my face needs something thick and heavy, like the aforementioned Nivea night cream.
And now for the age of question of whether or not I would buy it again… Well if already buying this three times doesn’t answer that, I don’t know what will.

ps. I should also add that I genuinely want everyone to try it, I even bought a jar for my boyfriend’s mother earlier this year!
