Today I’m rounding out the week with my final thoughts on the Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum. Before I bought this eye serum, I had been using a black tea eye cream I’d received as a sample from Fresh. While I was considering buying that eye cream, my good friend Megan and global beauty guru, Jackie Aina, recommended this new Dermalogica Biolumin-C Eye Serum. Always one to try new products, I bought this eye serum to see if it could work as well for my dark circles as the Fresh one had. On Tuesday I wrote about the Dermalogica Biolumin-C Serum, so make sure you check that out afterwards if you haven’t already.
What I Liked
- Texture
- I loved how lightweight, thin and runny the serum was. The lightweight texture meant that it could be absorbed quite quickly.
- The smell
- Strangely, I found this eye serum smelt a lot like tea…
- Compatibly
- This worked so well with my other skincare products. I was a bit nervous that there may be some side effects like pilling, especially around the sensitive eye area, but that wasn’t the case at all.
- Results
- After a few weeks of use, I began to notice a huge difference in my under eye area. My eyes looked so much brighter and awake.
What I Disliked
- Tricky to use at first:
- If you watched any of my YouTube videos where I was using this eye serum, then you’ll know that I struggled a lot with knowing how much to apply. I honestly think that it took me up until a few weeks before I finished it, to figure how much to apply.
- Unfamiliar
- Because I’d never used an eye serum before I was very unfamiliar with how they work and how they should be applied (see above). Even though I’m used to serums and use them often, an eye serum is different because it covers a smaller surface area.
- Results
- Even though I loved the results, it definitely took a long time to see them. As I mentioned above, it wasn’t until a few weeks had passed that I saw anything change. And I’m not the only one – someone even commented on a video telling me they were disappointed with the serum because they saw no results at all.
Will I Buy Again?
As much as I eventually came around to the Biolumin C Eye Serum, I don’t think that I’ll buy this product again. In a recent YouTube video, I mentioned how I’m not particularly loyal to eye products, so I tend to switch quite a lot. That said, I would still recommend this eye serum (although you’ll need to be patient enough to wait to see results). Since this eye serum finished back in June, I started on the Fresh Black Tea Age-Delay Eye Concentrate, and once I’m done with that, I’ll move on to the Rodial Vit C Eye Cream. As always, you can expect to see reviews either here, on my YouTube channel or on Instagram.
