I received the Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Day Cream SPF 30 two months ago in my October Cosmetips X Patricia Bright Beauty Box. I was especially excited as I’d been wanting to try out elemis for the longest time. Now that I’ve been using it for the last couple of weeks, I thought it was a great time to write a review and share my first impressions, as well as what I like and dislike about the cream. Read on to find out all the details.
First Impressions
The Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing Day Cream is very thick and creamy, but also surprisingly very cool on the skin. I love to blob this on my face and then massage it out evenly. I thought a cream like this would smell really nice, but it doesn’t really of anything. Since I’ve been using this cream, I’ve noticed that my face feels a lot smoother and less bumpy – even when spots rear their ugly heads. I’ve also noticed that my skin doesn’t get dry like it used to and that even in the cold, my face still feels hydrated and plump. Packed with tri-enzymes, porio cocos and raspberry seed oil, this Dynamic Resurfacing Day Cream is supposed to renew, smooth and hydrate the skin.
What I Like
- Texture
- At first glance, this cream is oh so thick and luxurious, but once you rub it into the skin it dissolves into a silky malleable cream that sinks into the skin. I love that it’s not too thick, meaning that I can easily apply all my complexion products on top.
- Compatible
- Leading on from the first point, I love how well this works with my other skincare products. Before applying this cream, I use the Fresh Rose Floral Toner, the Fresh Vitamin Nectar Glow Juice Antioxidant Face Serum and the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Serum. Initially, I was a bit worried that because the cream was so thick it would cause pilling, but I found that wasn’t the case at all.
- SPF
- It goes without saying that I love that this Elemis face cream has SPF30. You guys know how I am with sunscreen and this is the most I’ve ever used in a product that wasn’t actually sunscreen. I love putting this cream on every morning knowing that my face is protected. When I first started wearing this face cream I would wear it underneath my sunscreen. However, I stopped doing this (and stopped wearing sunscreen with it altogether) as my face felt a tad congested with so many products on it.
- Hydrating
- Finally, I love how hydrating this cream is. Even though my serums and toner are very hydrating, I feel like this cream locks in the moisture so that my face doesn’t get dry throughout the day.
What I Dislike
The only thing I dislike about the cream isn’t really even about the cream; it’s more about the packaging. The hygiene lid is very tricky to take off which is a pain when you’re trying to open the jar in the morning.
Make sure you stay tuned for my final review once I finish this Elemis face cream.
