Do you believe in love at first smell? Because I certainly do!
The first time I smelled this Crème Of Nature Coconut Milk Hydrating Curling Cream, I knew I was going to love it. Its heavenly scent is packed with what can only be described as tropical coconuts, mixed with slight hints of citrus for an altogether mouth-watering experience. Trust me when I say that the moment you first smell this cream, you’ll soon be wanting to eat it too.
What I noticed
- The smell
- As I’ve already mentioned (and will continue to mention), the smell was the very first thing I noticed about this cream. Personally, I’m obsessed with the strong smell of coconuts, but I can imagine the smell becoming a bit sickly sweet over time.
- I also found that not only was the smell quite strong, but it ended up leaving my room with a faint smell of coconut. So if you’re not a fan of heavy smells, this may not be the product for you.
- The texture
- At first glance, I thought this cream would have a watery consistency, but I found that the cream was actually kind of thick. Because I’d left my wet hair up in its t-shirt turban for a liiiittle bit too long, it was a bit of a struggle to get it to absorb fully into my hair. This meant that I was left with lots of stubborn white patches that took some time to rub in. Next time, I’ll leave my hair to dry for a shorter time so that it’s easier to apply.
What I like
Where do I start? Well first and foremost, the smell really roped me in (if you couldn’t tell from my passionate intro lol). When I gave it a big ole whiff during my hair haul video, I knew this product and I were going to get along. The smell makes the cream feel very therapeutic, luxurious and relaxing, and really adds that something extra. I loved how soft and frizz-free this made my hair, though I think that could have also been because of the green tea rinse I had done beforehand. Even though I had expected it to have a runnier consistency, I really liked that it was quite thick – almost like a butter – as it meant my hair felt like it was getting a special treatment. And uh, did I mention the scent?
What I dislike
As first impressions go, there isn’t a lot that I dislike – in fact, I don’t think there’s anything at all. The only thing I’d say could be something you might dislike is the strong smell that can be overpowering if you’re not careful. But, if you’re like me and aren’t bothered by the smell of coconut (and if anything the more coconut, the better) then this won’t be an issue for you.
I have a feeling I’m going to really enjoy using this product, so make sure you stay tuned to my YouTube channel for more. Also, keep a look out on the blog for my Empties post once I finish the tub!
