As we head into the cold depths of winter, I wanted to take a quick walk down memory beauty lane to shine a light on the products that stood out to me during the warmer summer and autumn months. Here’s a look at a couple of my autumn beauty favourites.
Malin + Goetz Peppermint Shampoo
When I got this peppermint shampoo as a sample I was quite apprehensive about it (to be fair, I’m usually apprehensive about any hair care product that’s not specifically designed for coily afro hair). But as fate would have it, my trusty shampoo finished and this was the only other option I had available to me, and boy oh boy was I impressed.
Rich, minty and refreshing, I don’t think my scalp had felt that clean in a very long time. Not only did this shampoo effortlessly remove every sign of build-up, but it also gently cleansed my strands without leaving my hair feeling squeaky clean and stripped of its natural oils. Because the sample was so small, I only managed one full use of it, but the difference I saw and felt in my hair was like nothing I’d seen in a long time.
Tropic Skincare Skin Re-Leaf Moisturiser*
Tropic kindly gifted me their new Skin Re-Leaf moisturiser that promises to help protect your skin barrier and is especially good for those who tend to overdo it with the actives *cough cough* alice *cough cough* or those with sensitive skin. I feel like I fall into both categories so I was very excited about trying it – and it did not disappoint. Lightweight, but also kind of thick, this creamy moisturiser felt like a hug on my face (and still does), helping to reduce and smooth my texture, while also brightening my complexion.
This moisturiser also came to me at such a great time because, since early this year, I’ve been focusing more on my skin barrier and ways I can keep it strong and protected. I love that since using this moisturiser, my skin looks so much smoother overall and feels hydrated.
Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush “Bichette”
If you follow me on TikTok, then this last one is a no-brainer. Since the very first time I applied the Westman Atelier Baby Cheeks Blush I was completely hooked and knew I would love the brand for the rest of my life. A nice deep pinky-red, Bichette perfectly complements darker skin tones, adding a beautiful colour to my cheeks. I love how smooth and creamy it applies to the skin, how effortless it is to blend, and how, depending on my mood, I can either amp it up or make it look more subtle.
This blush impressed me so much that since filming I’ve bought it in two more shades: Dou Dou and Poppet; and have my eye on Minette.

Although we still have a couple of weeks left to go before the end of the year, I’d love to know what some of your Autumn beauty favourites have been, or what products have caught your eye in 2023.
