After using this oil, I’m assured that oils are just not me. Remember my unfortunate experience with IC’s night time oil earlier this year? Well my experience with this oil wasn’t as bad, but it made me realise that I strongly dislike using oils on my hair. Okay, so this oil is actually my sister’s. She bought it at the same time I bought all that stuff in my mega haul, and I’ve watched her slather it on her braids and scalp practically every day for the last few months. Intrigued by the wonderful and dreamy scent, I decided to give it a try. Bearing in mind that I had washed my hair a few hours before using it, my hair was already feeling a little squeaky but kind of soft. After I had applied it, my hair felt ughk. It felt like the oil was clinging to my hair as opposed to feeling like my hair had absorbed it. This was the moment I realised that I’m either using oils all wrong, oils and my hair just don’t mix, or both. However, it wasn’t all doom and gloom so I will say this. this oil smells DIVINE, it’s not too thin and it’s not thick; and after I had applied generous amounts of my Blue Magic Argan Oil (i.e. enough to rid my hair of that gross oily texture) my hair felt even more smooth and amazing – which tells me that the oil itself contains some hair goodness worth trying, just maybe not to be used on its own. Because of this, I am planning on doing a hot oil treatment using this oil, so I look forward to seeing (and sharing) those results.
Sure I’ve decided that oils aren’t for me and my hair, I’d love to know if they’re worth not giving up on or if there’s a technique I should be using. If you have an idea, please let me know.
